or does it not matter at all. I once asked a person I met form Paris this and she replied. The true French do not care what our lesses think and all true French know that everyone is our lesser.

Hold on a second everybody. First of all, those who don't get a world of english, just don't reply..better than being ridiculous.
I am french and i have lots of anglophone friends. It is true that we have a bad reputation, we are said to be rude, unwelcoming for foreigners and never satisfied. I am sorry to say that it is true for most french people, particularly the older generation. I am really sure we can change this and get better. We have the most visited city in the world Paris, the most beautiful historical sites, museum...we have to be more welcoming and speak a better english...It would help a lot because it is to my knowledge, the main reason why we are rude...we just don't understand and our english is so bad (and badly taught at school) that we're afraid to speak...
Anyways, to answer your question it bothers me a lot i am sure i am not the only one to thunk so.
By the way, please everybody, stop answering with anti US feelings all the time, it seems like it's the standard answer in Yahoo Q/R....

Why just because the Americans hate them, doesnt mean everyone hates them. I mean i think more people hate America, and with a bit of respect to the French people on these boards write in French next time, and im British by the way.
